Miniature Top Hat Commission: Bound Elegance

This was a miniature top hat commissioned after she saw me wearing this one on campus. She needed it in a week for a bridal shower, and I was apprehensive to take it on because I had two midterms coming up--but we did it!

The frame was hand sewn from wire and buckrum, covered and then the layer of purple polyester taffeta added (I prefer to work in silk, but this was the closest match to the bride's colors.

The original requests were that it laced up the back and that there were feathers on it. But then we found the chain... I was originally worried about how it would all come together, but after playing with it for a while I am quite pleased with how it came out. Also, you can't see it but there's a ace of hearts in the lining inside
